How does
Positive Neuroplasticity
Coaching Works?
Best way to figure out if coaching is for you is to try a session online – easy to book at no cost:
Working with a personal coach or a mentor is a little like buying an airplane seat for a holiday flight – until you actually fly and find out who are you sitting next to, you have no idea how comfortable are you likely to be.
Over the years, I found out that most people want to feel better but only few want to change. Mindfulness-based coaching is more than just looking to upgrade to better/bigger/stronger/richer versions of yourself. Nothing wrong with these, but if that is your goal this coaching is not for you.
Besides working with few Startup teams, I also take on about 10-15 individual new clients a year; the coaching journey I designed usually takes three to six months to ‘travel’.
There is only one way for you to find out if I am the right person for you to work with and if indeed Mindfulness-based / Positive Neuroplasticity practice is the right coaching for you.
I want to find out if and how can I help you first. Book a session and we’ll talk to figure out what you want and what you need (not always the same thing), and if indeed I am the right person to help you.
Spoiler alert– you will know within 15 minutes if this is for you – we connect with people on a feeling level – it is not a head thing.
If it feels right for both of us, we can continue with a series of sessions that are suitable for your journey and goals.

I work overseas sometimes so if I don’t respond to a call do send a note.
The Positive Neuroplasticity Training (PNT) model I work with was developed and taught by Dr. Rick Hanson. Based on research and practice over many years, Rick coded a simple and effective methodology which counters the impact of our natural evolution-driven cognitive bias to imprint and enforce negative impressions and experiences.
I have been training with Rick over some time now and now coach and teach using the PNT model. I cannot recommend enough going to the source: Watch a TED talk about Hardwiring Happiness by Dr. Rick Hanson at the TEDxMarin.
I also incorporated the model into a stand-alone coaching program called ‘Positive Neuroplasticity Program’ (PNP). The core of the PNP Coaching program is anchored in Mindfulness practices and draws from many sources, including Philosophy, Psychology, Religious traditions and more. However, it is non-denominational and science-based throughout. It provides you with insights, tools and practices to reshape your life and re-language your internal conversation in a manner that delivers on your purpose, aspirations for clear and tangible results, as well as anchor your well-being in enjoyable and expanded practice. Essentially, it aims to connect you with ‘Mindful Intelligence’. I use the word ‘connect’ here on purpose – the state of Mindfulness requires practice to discover and anchor in our daily practice, but it is not something attained from the outside – it is an innate awareness that is part of who we are. Indeed, some say it is who we are.
Mindfulness, in a nutshell, is the capacity to stay non-judgmentally focused on the present moment. Notice that the word ‘on’; not ‘in’. Consider a moment when you are really focused while doing something (like when sticking your tongue out while using a tool of a sort), there is often superb concentration on a task, but there is still very little internal witnessing – that is to say, there is no one consciously watching the unfolding process moment by moment.
Attaining the capacity for Mindfulness will take you a step further: now there is a sense of ‘I am’ watching the conversation in your head which is observing the thoughts, reactions, emotions, bodily sensations and other ‘information’ bits while they stream in. That observer is watching without commenting, looking without reacting, taking it in without holding on. Focus, with awareness, in the present moment, and without judgment.
Mindfulness-based coaching can support this process. It is like unwrapping your true ‘self’ from the projected packaging of identifying with useless things and painful habits. This process allows you to become open and tuned in to what is important. It is also a celebration: an intuitive, conscious, vibrational, creative walk through the vagaries of self and tribulations of the human experience
Coaching is about making the human experience more manageable – and even better – managed with excellence. There is only one way to find out if this model works for you or not – seize the moment and contact Michael for a free chat.
